It’s very challenging to get a job as an accountant in Canada as a new immigrant. What do you know about Canadian payroll software, Canadian taxes, or Canadian rules on foreign income? What Canadian certifications do you have?

There are other support roles you could probably fill quite easily, such as payroll clerk or bookkeeper, but even then there is still plenty for you to learn. You can start by learning the most widely used software: Quickbooks (Canada) or Sage Accounting software.

Plan on starting small and working your way up.
